R360 Competition Players Subject to Decade-Long Suspension from NRL

The athlete gained 20 international appearances for the Kiwis before switching allegiance to the Samoan team.

The NRL's authority has stated that players who sign with the “rebel” R360 league will be prohibited for 10 seasons.

The proposed competition, scheduled to begin in 2026, is hoping to draw rugby union and rugby league players with hefty contracts and a slimmed-down fixture list.

Prominent National Rugby League players have allegedly been contacted by the breakaway group, which will include six or eight men's clubs and four women's teams located in large metropolitan areas worldwide.

The Samoan the player, who plays for his NRL club in the NRL, has stated he has had discussions with the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Zac Lomax, Haas and Jye Gray are also reported to be considering joining the new competition.

Several leading union teams, such as Australia, recently announced a ban on R360 recruits playing global fixtures.

“We heard our teams and we've taken firm action,” said ARLC chairman V'Landys.

“Sadly, there will persistently exist entities that try to exploit our code for economic benefit.

“They don't invest in development systems or the advancement of players. They merely capitalize on the hard work of existing bodies, jeopardizing careers of monetary damage while gaining personally.

“They are, in reality, imitating the sport.”

The organization is launched by former England World Cup winner Tindall and supported by commercial backers.

After the potential union sanctions were announced last week, it said: “We want to work together as integrated into the international rugby schedule.

“The series is designed with bespoke schedules for both genders and the organization will allow all athletes for international matches, as specified in their deals.”

The new league will apply for endorsement for its plans from the international authority, union's administrative organization, at its board session in the coming year.
