New Information Come to Light About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains

New information has come to light regarding the tragic demises of renowned director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the house. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

When she went into the home, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.

Furthermore refuted published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to reports of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
