Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the region, generating strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Impact
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mostly for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both states.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
