We start with queries from Conservative lawmaker the committee chair, that oversees the group.

She opens by providing context to the leaked memo prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.

"It is not my wish for the BBC slanting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it balanced, fair and just," he declares.

Upon being questioned if he thinks the BBC is institutionally biased, the adviser responds: "Absolutely not. Let's be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - encompassing factual and entertainment shows."

But he adds: "There is real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another previous consultant BBC consultant interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted issues.

"Did the BBC prepared to have a genuine dialogue and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
