Fans Demand Detainment of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande
Passionate fans of the actress are demanding that a man who jumped a barricade and touched the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared clip shows the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a event pathway flanked by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers revealed that he was set to appear on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
Pattern of Incidents
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains clips of him interrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.
"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user remarked.
Supporters Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Safety
Several fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more message on Instagram.
A number of fans also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for online networks to block Mr Wen's videos.
