Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
