Armed assailants have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an raid targeting a girls' secondary school in north-western Nigeria, police reports indicate.
The armed faction stormed the comprehensive secondary school for girls in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on Monday, police confirmed.
The attackers "exchanged fire with security forces on duty in a shootout" before scaling the perimeter fence and abducting the learners from their dormitory, an official report indicated.
